The design of Visconti's Homo Sapiens Carbon Abyssus fountain pen is inspired by the nocturnal sea, and it's engineered for light weight. The body is forged carbon, with the carbon fibres making a swirling pattern, with highlights from blue anodised aluminium alloy foil mixed in. The new material uses more densely packed carbon, while the metal parts are now made from Ergal, an aluminium alloy used in the aerospace industry for its high strength and light weight.

The cap has a magnetic seal, with a sprung pocket clip, and the filling system is Visconti's double reservoir power filler. This offers not only satisfyingly long writing sessions without having to keep refilling, it also - thanks to the two separate chambers - protects against accidental ink leaks.

Features an 18 carat gold nib. This is a limited edition, with only 288 available. Supplied gift-boxed.
